Online Appointment Scheduling

“When is good for you?”

“I’m busy every night except Thursday this week.”

“Oh, well my boy has a baseball game on Thursday night. What about Tuesday?”

“Sorry, Tuesday I have a PTA meeting, can we possible do it on Saturday morning?”

“No, my in-laws are coming to town and we’re going out on the boat on Saturday. What about…”

Ever had a conversation like this before? Planning a meeting time for a group of busy people is usually an exercise in frustration. Especially this time of year, everyone is so busy that it’s very hard to find a time when EVERYBODY can meet.

Barbara recently had to organize a meeting like this with six very busy people. Instead of calling everyone, or worst yet, emailing them, we looked up different web based scheduling software options.

2010 Olympics Games Vancouver - Focus

I absolutely love the Olympics. Why? I guess I just love to see the looks on their faces, when all their hard work, the literal blood, sweat, and tears, has paid off. They are Olympic gold medalists, or silver, or bronze, and they see their country’s flag being raised, saying that they are the best in the world. Or maybe they they didn’t medal – just finishing an Olympic event is a great accomplishment, one that very few people can claim.

But there’s another face, a face that always precedes the victory face: the focused face, the game face.

If you see pictures of successful Olympians right before or during their sport, you will see one thing: FOCUS. What do so many of the athletes say when asked about the upcoming competition? “I’ve just got to focus on doing the very best that I can.” They train hours a day, 6-7 days a week, sometimes thousands of miles from their family and friends, all for this one event. These people are focused.

So what can this incredible focus teach us about simplicity? It’s not complicated, but it is profound:
